BREST, bike festival 1 - JUNE 3, 2007

It happens that musicians, striving for new horizons of creativity, sometimes radically change the conditions of their habitual existence, places of work and other household trifles. And so, as they once joked, less than six months had passed, and Mr. Nesterenko went to work as a consultant on electric guitar equipment in a metropolitan institution that positioned itself as the “First Musical Hypermarket of Belarus”.
It happened on the very morning when the White Night th on April 30, 2007) and ended up in Minsk just in time for the first working day of their guitarist. He remained to fulfill his labor duty in the capital, and all the rest went to Mogilev. As already mentioned in the article devoted to the performance in Grodno, it was the last in the history of the group, when bassist Sergei Matskevich, keyboardist Evgeny Danilenko, drummer Evgeny Zverev, and, in fact, Nesterenko himself played in the line-up.
The group, unfortunately, could no longer fully function in its previous form due to: the location of the participants, and secondly, in accordance with other future circumstances, which soon increased these distances many times over (see the previous article).
A couple of years before current events, the White Night Blues played there in the capital's Star-and-Rock Club with Tatyana Gruntovich, former bass player of several Slutsk and Minsk bands. It turned out that she was interested in the blues, and she happily agreed to Nesterenko's offer to participate in some events in May 2007.
In such a situation, the group found the offer from the organizers from Brest to perform at the next international bike festival. There, White Night Blues appeared in their usual trio format: Yuri Nesterenko - guitar-vocals, Evgeny Zverev - drums and Tatyana Gruntovich - bass guitar. Yury and Tatyana dismantled the program and prepared it in Minsk, and Evgeny joined in, knowing all the material well. Unfortunately, there was no opportunity to hold a single rehearsal, so the drummer and the bassist played together for the first time directly on the Brest stage.
In general, all this was within the real blues tradition. A kind of outdoor jam. You can talk about some nuances while the musicians played, but in general the performance went well. For which we thank the musicians, the organizers, and, of course, the grateful audience of the Brest bike show.
